Our Background

BACKGROUND TO THE ASSOCIATION

Epsom and Ewell Housing Association was formed in 1949 by a group of local people who saw a need for housing in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell for elderly people of limited means.

The Association is non-profit making and has charitable status. We are overseen by a governing Board; Members volunteer their time without pay.

We are regulated by The Regulator for Social Housing; our registration number is L0038. Although we refer to ourselves as a Housing Association, the regulator uses the term ‘registered provider’ to describe us. In legal terms, we are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as a Co-operative and Community Benefit Society, number 13658R. We are also a member of the National Housing Federation which represents the social housing sector.

The Association’s properties are situated in St. Martin’s Avenue and Worple Road, Epsom which is an area of attractive housing within a conservation area and is less than ten minutes walk from Epsom town centre.
